CureX Hosts "Past Cure X: Mental Health" Event, Inspiring Change in the Fight Against Mental Illness. Calls on Happy Jack Records to be the voice for Mental Health Advocacy

New York City, May 30, 2023— CureX, a leading hub for collaboration and innovation in the life sciences, tech, and digital health fields, proudly hosted the highly anticipated event "Past Cure X: Mental Health" on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Cure headquarters in New York City. The event brought together forward-thinking leaders, experts, and advocates to address the pressing issue of the rising mental illness rates and to explore groundbreaking solutions. As a dynamic ecosystem fostering breakthroughs in various fields, CureX provides an ideal setting for scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs to come together and discover advancements. "Past Cure X: Mental Health" showcased the collective efforts being cultivated within the mental health community to tackle the harsh realities of mental illness and to promote a healthier future.

 

Esteemed speakers from diverse backgrounds lent their expertise and personal experiences to the discussion. The lineup included David Nathan, Co-Founder of Happy Jack Records and former executive at Republic Records; Alla Landa, PhD, Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology and Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center; Jorge Petit, MD, Psychiatrist and former President and CEO for Services for the UnderServed; Jeffrey Sparr, Artist, Mental Health Advocate and Co-founder of PeaceLove Foundation; David Ewing Duncan, Award-winning science journalist and author of "Stolen Words: COVID, Ketamine, and Me," Vanity Fair; and Stephen Sokoler, Entrepreneur, and CEO of Journey. Each speaker shared emerging scientific research, innovative treatments, future predictions, and personal stories, underscoring the urgent need for transformative change in society's approach to mental health. The event also incorporated a group meditation practice, highlighting the importance of holistic well-being in mental health journeys. To further uplift the atmosphere, the attendees were treated to a captivating music performance by Nick Howard, an award-winning singer-songwriter.

 

David Nathan, Co-Founder, Happy Jack Records, led the event with a poignant discussion, sharing his personal experiences that have shaped his journey towards his latest endeavor, Happy Jack Records. Happy Jack Records is a groundbreaking record label with a predominant focus on providing essential support to enhance artists' mental health and well-being through coaching, therapy, and education. This pioneering initiative aims to honor the memory of David's late son, Jack Nathan, who tragically passed away on July 3, 2020, at the age of 19. Jack's vision of creating a safe haven through "Happy Jack" for individuals struggling with mental illness remains at the core of this transformative project.
